Chris Tisch, the assistant metro editor for nights at the Tampa Bay Times, has been named its new business editor. A story on its website states, “He succeeds Graham Brink, who was recently named metro editor. “‘Chris is an accomplished editor with great news sense. He is a terrific choice to lead the best group of business journalists in Florida,’ Times managing editor Jennifer Orsi said. Jennifer is managing editor. She joined the Times in 1988 as a reporter at the Brandon bureau. She has since held a series of positions at the newspaper, including Hillsborough County government reporter, Northdale/Carrollwood bureau chief, local and state political coordinator, Tampa night city editor, and assistant metro editor and deputy metro editor in St. Petersburg . She also spent three years as Tampa metro editor. In November 2008, she became metro editor overseeing the Tampa and St. Petersburg local news staffs. In January 2010, she was named assistant managing editor for metro news. In June 2014, Jennifer was named managing editor and is the first woman to hold this title at the Times. Jennifer earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and history from Indiana University.
Jennifer has worked with the Times nearly her entire journalistic career. She interned for the Clearwater Sun during college and completed two college internships at the Times before joining the staff full-time in 1988.
