I love when John Hinderaker tries to take down Paul Krugman.
Aug 8, 2014: Neo-Neocon: John Hinderaker on Obama’s bombing announcement
Platitudes are not policy. At least, they shouldn’t be. But they’re all Obama’s got. Read the whole thing. Does Obama actually believe his own gobbledegook? Hinderaker seems to think so, but I have grave doubts.
Apr 8, 2014: Canada Free Press: Schumer promises attacks on Koch Brothers will continue - but he sure loves taking their donations
Unless of course they’re donating money to Chuck Schumer. How do we know that? Well, we know it because John Hinderaker over at Powerline Blog has a copy of a thank you note Schumer signed and sent to the Koch Industries political action committee back in 2010. It seems he has no problem taking the donations that he seeks to eliminate from the system.
Mar 22, 2014: Quark Soup: The Intellectual Blackout at the Powerline Blog
It's not often that the very first line of an article is outright wrong, but John Hinderaker manages it at Powerline, which Mark Steyn gleefully reposts.

Mar 1, 2014: Eric The Blue:  Power outage
Over at the Power Line blog, John Hinderaker, who is so perpetually out of breath that his brain has not received any oxygen since Reagan was president, cites the results of a National Science Foundation survey showing that "51% of Democrats do not know that the Earth goes around the Sun once a year!"
Feb 9, 2014: Village Voice: CBO Finds Obamacare Lets Americans Quit Jobs They Don't Want, Which Rightbloggers, Naturally, Oppose
"The CBO's bottom line," said Power Line's John Hinderaker, getting poetical, was "that working hours equivalent to two million jobs will be foregone."
ON THE RECORD: Jan 24, 2014: John Hinderaker (Power Line) poses the question
Jan 8, 2014: Examiner: The real problem behind the Rachel Maddow-Koch Brothers feud
But according to John Hinderaker at his Powerline blog, Maddow is all wet because neither the company nor the Kochs had taken a position on the law.
Dec 26, 2013: Eric the Blue: John Hinderaker's world gone mad
Power Line's John Hinderaker offered up for Christmas three items of evidence showing that "we are living in a world gone mad."  He opens with the controversy surrounding the Duck Dynasty star's views on homosexuality:
Nov 4, 2013: Media Matters: Republicans And Right-Wing Media Championed Discredited 60 Minutes Benghazi Report
Power Line: "Democratic Partly News Outlet" Turns On Obama With 60 Minutes Report. John Hinderaker at the conservative blog Power Line wrote: "60 Minutes is normally a reliable Democratic Party news outlet, but tonight it turned its back on its friends in the Obama administration with a scathing report on the Benghazi scandal." [Power Line, 10/27/13]
Oct 22, 2013: Hinterland Gazette: Right Wingnut John Hinderaker Blames Obama, Eric Holder for Increase in Mass Murders
So, Power Line’s John Hinderaker is blaming President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder for the increase in mass shootings that have occurred since the a black man ascended the U.S. presidency. Hinderaker is chomping at the bit to assign blame to the Obama administration in response to Eric Holder’s comments that the number of mass shootings have tripled.
Oct 12, 2013: Conservatism is a Cancer on Democracy: Google's motto used to be do no evil, now they have joined evil central, ALEC
Quietly, Google has joined ALEC -- the American Legislative Exchange Council -- the shadowy corporate alliance that pushes odious laws through state legislatures.
Sept 14, 2013: Clark Griffith: More on Union Decertification from Powerlineblog.com
My friend John Hinderaker of the Powerlineblog.com also picked up on the significance of the union decertification movement that I commented on yesterday.  Here and below
Mar 19, 2013: Conservatism is a Cancer on Democracy: Proto-fascist John Hinderaker of PowerLine Should Stop Foisting Economic Lies On a Country He Claims To Love
Via Mark Thoma, Hale Stewart is bemused by John Hinderaker of PowerLine. As Stewart notes, Hinderaker begins by asserting that everyone knows that an economic crisis is coming — which apparently means everyone he talks to — then rolls out just about every one of the myths that have been proved wrong again and again by events, from the looming debt crisis to the imminent takeoff of inflation.
Feb 8, 2013: Daily Kos: Powerline, Free Beacon praise Bush's 'stroke of genius'
In the summer of 2005, Powerline's John Hinderaker, too, saw a "stroke of genius" in President Bush's latest initiative on climate change: It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile. Of course, when Hinderaker was on the receiving end of some of that hostility--and the side-splitting mockery his paean understandably produced--he updated his piece to announce that he had been joking all along:  The tone of the post is obviously tongue in cheek, but liberals never seem to notice. They are, to put it charitably, not big on nuance.
Oct 17, 2012: Democrats for Progress: TSW #36
John Hinderaker won’t admit it, but I think he haz a sad. It was inevitable, considering that a mere two weeks ago the Power Line co-founder, who manages to store within the same cranium litigation abilities that got him named one of the 100 best lawyers in Minnesota and all the impulse control and political insight of a hyperactive four-year-old, was on an intense sugar high after W. Mitt Romney’s performance in the first presidential debate.
May 16, 2012: Youtube: John Hinderaker: I endorse Pete Hegseth
Lawyer and creator of Power Line Blog John Hinderaker endorses Pete Hegseth,
Apr 2, 2012: EconoPolitics: John Hinderaker Is No Scientist
He is a lawyer who knows very little about economics or science. What he does know is how to spread misinformation. In his latest attempt at misinforming his readers, he repeats one of the favorite myths of climate change denial.
Mar 13, 2012: Huffington Post: Would a Koch Takeover of Cato Make War With Iran More Likely?
The candidate they back for president, Mitt Romney, has been saber-rattling on Iran. And the Kochs have already tried to pack the Cato board with people like self-proclaimed neoconservative John Hinderaker, who once wrote, "It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile." Does anyone think guys like that are going to preserve any hint of independence at Cato?
Nov 29, 2011: MPR News: Bright Ideas with John Hinderaker

July 30, 2011: Firedoglake: Come Saturday Morning: Meet ALEC’s Fair-Haired Cabin Boy, John Hinderaker
One of the right wing’s staunchest and most prolific public defenders of ALEC is none other than John Hinderaker of the PowerLine Blog.
Jan 20, 2011: Legal Insurrection: John Hinderaker’s Weak Defense Of His Palin Political Premortem
While Hinderaker does not respond to my post, he does respond today to a reader letter which made many of the points I made.  Hinderaker’s response is a call for realism, that Palin simply does not have a chance based on the recent CNN Poll and other polling showing high unfavorability ratings among Independents
Nov 11, 2008: US News & World Report: Seriously? John Hinderaker on Barack Obama's Oratorical Skills
"Obama thinks he is a good talker, but he is often undisciplined when he speaks. He needs to understand that as president, his words will be scrutinized and will have impact whether he intends it or not. In this regard, President Bush is an excellent model; Obama should take a lesson from his example. Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly. He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been president, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed. If Obama doesn't raise his standards, he will exceed Bush's total before he is inaugurated."—Conservative blogger/writer and lawyer John Hinderaker compares Barack Obama's oratorical skills with George W. Bush's on the conservative blog Power Line
Nov 11, 2006: Balloon Juice: John Hinderaker- Total Idiot
The bullshit continues from one of the silliest people on the intertrons
Aug 24, 2006: Unclaimed Territory: More support for John Dean's thesis found in John Hinderaker's "big brother"
Additionally, contrast Bush's straightforward admission ("we thought he had weapons of mass destruction. It turns out he didn't . . .") with the claim made by John Hinderaker as recently as a couple weeks ago ("about the fact that Iraq possessed WMDs, there is no doubt"). Hinderaker was defending those who told a recent Harris Poll that they still believe Iraq had WMDs at the time we invaded. To defend the President's adventure in Iraq, his most loyal supporters insist upon fictions (that WMDs were not the main reason for invading, that Iraq had WMDs) which even the President, at long last, is unwilling to maintain any longer.
Apr 10, 2005: Brian Carnell: Just How Stupid Is John Hinderaker?
Since I’m busy ragging on right wing blogs this morning, might as well point out another — if a bit old — bit of nonsense by John Hinderaker. You might remember Hinderaker as the Powerline blogger who believes that video never lies.

John H. Hinderaker (born September 1950) is a conservative American lawyer, as well as a fellow at the Claremont Institute. He is a 1971 graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Harvard Law School in 1974. Power Line is an American political publication, providing news and commentary from a conservative perspective and reaching 580,000 readers per month according to Quantcast. It was originally written by three lawyers who attended Dartmouth College together: John H. Hinderaker, Scott W. Johnson, and Paul Mirengoff.
