Feb 13, 2023: MediaIte: ‘Jesus Christ Wouldn’t Spend Millions of Dollars on Television Ads’: Joy Reid Pans ‘He Gets Us’ Super Bowl Commercials
On Monday’s episode of The ReidOut, the host referred to the totality of Sunday’s Super Bowl ads as “really not that great this year” before turning her attention to the commercials touting Jesus. “But two from a group called ‘He Gets Us,’ really stood out – telling viewers to be childlike and urging us to look past our differences with a tagline, ‘Jesus loved the people we hate,'” she said. “But what those ads didn’t tell you is who was behind the He Gets Us campaign. It’s part of a $100 million campaign to help promote Christianity and build the brand of Jesus, according to its backers.” |

Feb 4, 2014: Black Agenda Report: Another Black Face on MSNBC: Good News For Joy Ann Reid, Not So Much For The Rest of Us
Just as Fox News is the propaganda arm of the Republican party, the White House and corporate Democrats, as if any other kind really matter, have MSNBC on lockdown. You don't earn a daily slot on either side of corporate media if you're not a consistent and effective shill for corporate interests – for the privatization of public education, for US imperial interventions and war crimes in Africa, South Asia and the Americas, for fracking, for unfettered police spying, and for only attacking the bad things the other party does. That's Joy Ann Reid to a T, and that's how you earn those slots at Fox or MSNBC and that's how you keep them

Z-NEWS NOTES: Dec 30, 2013: J.M. Green, an author over at Debunking Christianity, inadvertently made it clear how they come up with their "theories" about Christianity, In an article titled "Bible Prophecy Fulfilled (Part 3): The Christmas Murders" he begins his article with his personal exegesis about Matthew Chapter 2. As he continues in his hyperbole, he then writes: "Okay, you need to just settle down. This is a Bible story, which means that magical things can happen. Logic and reason are not required." Thanks, JM Green, for the clarification. Though there are some Christians who wrongly make the claim that faith does not have to be logical, most "atheist" apologetics readily accepts that as a premise. They then present and absurd interpretation and then ridicule Christians for believing the absurd interpretation that they themselves created. It was with that premise that MSNBC's Joy Reid came up with her absurd theory about Christmas Trees last week. And how MSNBC's Michael Eric Dyson came up with his "homoerotic" theory about Christians. At this point MSNBC needs to quit pretending they are Biblical apologists.

Z-NEWS NOTES: Dec 29, 2013: .Dan Calabrese (Best of Cain) wrote this commentary on MSNBC's Joy Reid's failed attempt at apologetics when she attempted to use the Bible to condemn Sarah Palin for having a Christmas tree (See Dec 28 On The Record): "And you want to be careful when you let the likes of Joy Reid loose with a Bible, not that it wouldn't be a great thing for her to read it in search of God's Word. But that's not how she reads it. She reads it in search a way to score cheap political points against someone she doesn't like. Satan used to quote Scripture that way too. And as usually happens when secularists quote the Bible, they don't know what they're talking about. That's why they prattle on about shellfish in the Old Testament when you quote 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 in reference to homosexuality. They don't know the difference between ceremonial law and moral law. They don't even know the two exist and are distinct from each other. So they spew nonsense and they're totally convinced they're making a valid point."

Dec 28, 2013: Joy Reid tried to be an apologetics expert on MSNBC this week. She failed miserably. On a segment she attempted to bash Sarah Palin, she claimed Palin was being a hypocrite for wanting to keep Christ in Christmas while having a Christmas tree. She cited part of Jeremiah Chapter 10 as proof: “For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scare crow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good." Unless Sarah Palin has joined some kind of Tree Worshipping cult, Reid really missed the pint of the verse by a very long shot. And an extremely long shot at that.
