Apr 10, 2014: News Busters: NBC Touts 'Rarefied Air' of Summit Where Dem Presidents Spew Left-Wing Talking Points
Promoting the civil rights summit being held at the Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library on Thursday, NBC Today co-host Savannah Guthrie turned to "NBC special anchor" and full-time liberal activist Maria Shriver for a report on the event: "This is pretty rarefied air you're in. We've got these former presidents all speaking at the summit. What are the themes you've been hearing so far?" ![]() Stupid On The Record: Jan 23, 2014: Wikipedia actually wasted their time putting a definition to the term "war on women.": "War on Women is an expression in United States politics used to describe certain Republican Party initiatives as a wide-scale effort to restrict women's rights, especially reproductive rights. Prominent Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer, as well as feminists, have used the phrase to criticize proponents of the laws as trying to force their social views on women through legislation." It only works if you redefine the word "war" and the word "women." The fact of the matter is that no one in the realm of public policy or mainstream media is having any war on women. Whenever I hear someone use the expression I see a persons IQ drop every time they use the phrase. Wonkette uses it today: "GOP Congressman Has Thoughtful Plan To End War On Women: Have The Women Surrender Unto Him" and then they make the typically unbiblical exegesis on what the Bible means by "wives submit to your husbands" (which, BTW, I have yet to see any non theist interpret theistic issues yet). Yesterday the Washington Times announced "All is fair in love, war and politics: GOP attacks Dem claims of a ‘war on women’" )authored by Ralph Z. Hallow and Meredith Somers). In this article the Republicans are trying to figure out how to respond to accusations by people like Nancy Pelosi or Debbie Wassermann Schultz who saw the March for Life in DC as part of that nonexistent war. (Shultz and Pelosi lose IQ points on a regular basis.). Today's Christian Post has an article which looks at "Maria Shriver's 2014-2016 Version of 'War on Women'" (authored by Concerned Womens of America's Janice Shaw Crouse). Crouse writes that "Just when you thought the cliche 'war on women' had plunged to its lowest demagogic depths, Maria Shriver launched a 400-page report, A Woman's Nation Pushes Back from the Brink..." Note that Shrivers report states it is "A Woman's Nation" and might lead you to believe that this is the physical declaration of war by women on...hmmm, on what? Men? Republicans? But it's not. It is basically a Shriver report about the imaginary war in which she gets some of her elitist friends (Hollywood, etc) to support her premise. The Huffington Post has a whole section dedicated to the subject of the "War On Women." I note that in the index there is an article by Sen Bernie Sanders titled " United Against the War on Women." Sanders likens the war as the issue of slavery and even throws in gay rights for filler I suspect because there just isn't any war on women. Yet There are actually Senators who are fighting it.
This imaginary war is being fought with imaginary "wit" and cliches. What if there was a war and nobody came? What if there wasn't a war and everybody showed up anyway? The "War On Women" is Stupid On The Record. |
