" It reports an indescretion perpetrated by Texas Tea Party candidate Katrina Pierson. "In 1997, five days before her 21st birthday, Katrina Pierson, then named Katrina Lanette Shaddix, was arrested on a charge of theft of greater than $50 and less than $500." She went through the legal system, was judged, and sentenced to probation, of which she completed successfully. She is 37 now and was 20 when this event occurred. "Pierson says the incident helped turn her life around, showing her that mistakes often come with consequences." Her rival candidate, Pete Sessions, is reportedly "smearing" her because of this event. If that's true I would totally disagree with such an effort. She did the crime and did the time. It's irrelevant to the campaign at hand. Even still, she has agreed to meet with Sessions and publicly discuss it. He has declined so far and appears to rather smear her from afar.
