STUPID ON THE RECORD: Feb 21, 2014: Prachi Gupta (Salon) reports: "Stephen Colbert to Bill O’Reilly: “With all due respect, you’re an idiot.": "Bill O’Reilly, a loud voice with a face, is angry with Stephen Colbert (and Salon!) for mocking his efforts to auction off handwritten notes from his pre-Super Bowl interview with President Obama. This is because, after O’Reilly announced the auction of the not-at-all historic “historic” item, Colbert responded by auctioning off a microwave once used by the magnanimous O’Reilly himself." No use going over any more of the story. It's the non-story of three egos. 1) Colbert, who can do great satire when he wants, but is still one of those "I'm just a comedian" when he gets called out about anything, 2) O'Reilly, who's ego has always been a part of who he is and how he reacts, and 3) Gupta, who had to interject herself in this story again after she purposely left out some information out of an earlier story ("Stephen Colbert is auctioning off the microwave he stole from Bill O’Reilly." Watching the videos and reading the stories are time I won't ever get back. But the fact that any of them thinks its news is stupid and stupid on the record.
