I don’t begrudge pro-abortionists the right to honor their own. Des Moines Register columnist Rekha Basu has every right and—from her perspective—even an obligation to commemorate Jill June, who was the honoree at a retirement party held last Thursday.

![]() .Dec 30, 2013: In an op-ed in the Des Moines Register, columnist Rekha Basu opined the A&E decision to reinstate Phil Robertson summarized her argument with: "This embarrassing mess the A&E network got itself in should be a wake-up call. It’s time for TV to stop putting people out there to embarrass themselves, amuse some and offend others, then punish them for being who they are. It’s time to stop claiming the higher ground, when they just care about money and ratings. It’s time for audiences to call them out on their hypocrisy and demand better representations of America’s diversity." I have to wonder if the Des Moines Register is disregarding money and ratings as they fight to stay solvent as the internet has impacted most newspapers across the country. If not, then I suggest she quit in the name of "diversity." I suspect the will not be quitting any time soon, though.
