Dec 18, 2014: Raw Story: Reza Aslan explains why conservatives think Obama is a Muslim
Conservatives who claim that Barack Obama is really a Muslim don’t actually think the president is a follower of Islam, according to religious scholar Reza Aslan. They are just using the label to “otherize” him.

Jan 5, 2014: .Reza Aslan has been making the talk show circuit lately. For those who don't know who he is, he is a Muslim who has written a book titled "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth." Some might remember that Fox News' Lauren Green grilled him in an interview: “I want to be clear, you are a Muslim,” Green began. “So why did you write a book about the founder of Christianity?” and as Aslan kept dodging the question and instead kept giving his credentials to imply he was an "expert", Green kept asking him again. The left had a fit over this because Green had the guts to do what reporters should be doing: Looking for the truth. She never got it, but she tried. As David Wood over on "Answering Muslims" wrote: "Reza Aslan is an associate professor of creative writing at the University of California, Riverside. He claims (endlessly) to be a scholar of religions. However, his writings show that he is doing what nearly all Muslim apologists in the West do: he is trying to make Muhammad sound more like Jesus, and Jesus sound more like Muhammad, in an effort to make Islam more palatable to Americans and Europeans. In his book Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, Aslan argues that Jesus was a violent jihadist, who wanted to mercilessly kill the Roman occupiers of Israel. Faced with clear commands of Jesus to love our neighbors (Mark 12:28-31), to love our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48), to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9), and not to defend Christianity through violence (Matthew 26:52), Aslan is forced to radically reinterpret or dismiss Jesus' words." ..................“Purity is a good mask for corruption because it discourages inquiry." --Steve Levitt (Freakonomics). Hence, we have issues like the plagiarism charges against pastor, author, church leader, Mark Driscoll. Sharideth Smith writes: "This (Levitt's quote) can be applied to just about every major embarrassment the Church has suffered. We need to stop being so terrified of our heroes’ images being tarnished and start cleaning house. Questioning the actions of our leaders is not divisive or evil. It is essential."
