ON THE RECORD: Mar 7, 2013: Robert Huber, author of an article in the Philadelphia Magazine ("Being White In Philly"), was criticized by the Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Karen Heller because Hubers sources were anonymous and "Mr. Huber did not include any interviews with African-Americans, and all 10 white Philadelphia residents in the article were quoted by first name or by a changed name." It's not unusual for reporters to not name sources, but Heller must have missed the title of the article "Being White in Philly," hence, it was from the perspective of white people. That, however, was the real reason the article came under such scrutiny. The current political environment don't seem to have been given any authority to talk about race, which, in itself, is a sad commentary on the issue of race in America.
