STUPID ON THE RECORD: Jan 14, 2014: Some stories are just so nutty that you wonder why anyone would be involved or why anyone would waste space giving it any space in a paper or website. Just the title of this one made me assume this was one of those stories: "Most of the 10 Commandments violate U.S. Constitution, atheists say in Oklahoma suit." Reported by Travis Gettys (Raw Story) its another one of those stories where an atheist is so thin skinned that when they saw the ten commandments written somewhere it bothered them so much that they had to check into a hospital for therapy. OK, so maybe not to that extreme but you would think that as whiney as they get about this kind of stuff that it would be a logical conclusion. In this case "An atheist group has sued Oklahoma lawmakers over a law allowing religious displays on the increasingly crowded Capitol grounds." The derangement by this atheist group was that "Some of the suit’s plaintiffs claim that official business at the statehouse forces them to confront the display’s message, which the suit argues violates “the liberty of conscience” of all Oklahoma citizens." Oh heaven forbid that an atheist would view something in society that would bother them so much. It must be hell for them to just drive down a major highway or interstate and see signs or billboards for fear that they will be "forced" to look at one that they don't want to read...and we all know that if there is something there to read that they must HAVE to read it. This suit suggests that the tenc commandments they were FORCED to read "..effectively creates a ‘thought crime,’ wherein the citizenry is enjoined not to ‘covet’ certain items." Oh how terribly awful for them. So when they see a commercial for viagra so many of them must so totally devastated if the adage about small minds have small thoughts applies across the board. And in spite of their obvious handicap they take it upon themselves to selflessly create a lawsuit which speaks on behalf of ” of all Oklahoma citizens." It brings a tear to the eye. Of course, the tear is from laughing at them, but a tear nonetheless. But, really, how could you not respect a group that has a president that adds stuff to the Bill of Rights that isnt even there. The original First Amendment is so out dated anyway. American Atheists President David Silverman is so creative that he said the commandments were “.. an explicit violation of First Amendment protections of separation of religion and government.” It doesn't matter that the First Amendment doesnt say anything about a "separation of religion and government" so you have to applaud them for speaking on behalf of all thin skinned, small minded and creative Oklahomans and protect them all from "thought crimes" because they are forced to read everything that they see in public. That, is "Stupid" and it's on the record.
