Washington Free Beacon |
The Washington Free Beacon is an American conservative political journalism website. Feb 7, 2012: The Free Beacon was launched and founded by Michael Goldfarb, Aaron Harrison, and Matthew Continetti. The website is financially backed by Paul Singer, an American billionaire hedge fund manager and conservative activist. Ben Howe wrote in The Daily Beast that The Washington Free Beacon established "itself as a credible source of conservative journalism with deep investigative dives and exposes on money in politics", but after Trump's election it was "producing less actual reporting" and moved "more towards the path of least resistance: spending their time criticizing the left and the media, along with healthy doses of opinion writing." September 2019: Eliana Johnson was named Editor-in-Chief of the Washington Free Beacon, succeeding founding editor Matthew Continetti.

👉Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch posted today an article to Twitter of which he announced "Democrat Donor Arrested for Starting Massive Fire Democrats Blamed on Climate Change" from the Washington Free Beacon. Articles from the "Free Beacon" are always suspect to me. They lean far right and make a lot of stuff up just to get traffic through their site. And, of course, after a little research my thoughts were confirmed. The article is not true. It has the picture of the right guy (Edward Frederick Wackerman) of which the LA Times reported about first. Then it appears that after that the right wing media picked it up, starting with Gateway Pundit or Free Beacon and they embellished it with the "he is a Democrat" narrative. But that seems to be what you do lately if you are on right wing media. They mainly do it for click-bait. It gets traffic to their web site. Jim Hoft's Gateway Pundit is one of the worst. He embellishes everything he can to build up his ad grift. I wont look at his web site unless I absolutely have to. The others I noticed, like The Epoch Times, also passed the embellished story along. Fitton and Judicial Watch are part of a sham propaganda machine I call the Right Wing Dumpster Fire.
